K-HOUSE

The site is located on high ground in a new town built up about 40 years ago and has an area of two plots. The owner of the photo studio had the following two requests.
To create a home where he could live with his elderly mother.
To live in a house where they can look at their favourite car from the inside.
Taking advantage of the relatively spacious site, the volumes were segmented and arranged so as not to be overbearing to the town, and the gaps were used as outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces, introducing open spaces while allowing the indoor living style to blend in with the town. The rich natural landscape seen through the carefully placed openings, as if looking through a camera's viewfinder, is an intrusion of life. A spiral staircase leads up to the roof at the end of a circular walk through the court. We thought that one solution to enjoying suburban life would be to incorporate the suburban residential area, the mountains and landscape behind it all into the court as a borrowed landscape.
The requested gallery displaying two Porsche miniature cars is designed as an open plan with a circulation system, which can be seen from various spaces in the residence. The existing retaining wall has been removed and the area facing the road has been fully greened, providing a rich and pleasant environment for the town.
